Glad you wrote it up. I spent all my money on tonsils and melbourne so missed it this year. It's always facinating to see the different processes people go through.

Scott Dadich seriously does look like Will Farrel's brother or something.

Wow, why did I pay to go when I could just read your detailed write-up :-) Lol... Just Kidding. It was a fantastic and inspiring day. I'm a photographer/ artist and not a designer but I still found the typography stuff really interesting as I never knew how much thought went into it.
I found Ian Francis' process to be really interesting and I really enjoyed his talk (despite the contant 'um's').
What I loved seeing most was people like Timba Smits, The Glue Society and Tamara and Dean going out and "making it" for themselves. Why not start a magazine or a collective just for the love of it?

Why not just do what you love and inspire people to pay you for it?

Thanks Andrew. I agree about Tim Kentley, he had a great balance of knockout work but also explained how he did it, which I think is what these forums are all about.

Excellent write-up, Dominique! It was a great day. Tim Kentley's presentation interested me the most, though the Dutch pair were more entertaining. Wired was kinda cool until he lost me during the whole typeface discussion. I'd definitely attend again! Thanks for taking the time to take notes, photos and write this post!
